Ace space saturday - Woodland nursery

Welcome to Beckhams room. I found this space over at Apartment Therapy and it's all kinds of wonderful. Don't you just love a woodland theme? And this one with it's boyish slant ticks a lot of boxes...

The Block: WooHoo!!!!!

Well THAT was the best news I could have hoped for! Team D&S won! They nailed their rooms in the challenge house and came away with a 10/10 from all the judges for their kids room!

Now, in case anyone out there doesn't watch The Block, (why???!!!!) I do apologise for coming across as some kind of deranged freakazoid fan, but this couple are just so inspirational. Look at this room!!!!

No, you aren't imagining things. That is a table and chairs setting hanging upside down from the ceiling. And yes, it is sitting on astroturf...

Yup. It's that wallpaper again....

I need that blanket...

Losing it over those pen holders...

And just to prove it really is all in the details, they even decorate the window latch...

And that's why I love them so... If you've ever seen more creative decorating in a kids space I'd love you to share it with me. My hat is off to Sophie and Dale. I'm wrapped that they won the challenge this week (the prize is $10K off their reserve price of their house), and I hope it paves the way for them to win the whole season (with the highest margin over reserve).

What did you think? I got worried for a moment that the boys were going to win when they weren't showing their room much. And as much as I didn't fall in love with Dan & Dani, they deserved second spot - their bathroom was quite amazing, even if the whole wetroom concept was one that Dani openly said she hated earlier in the series and the design was pretty much a direct rip-off of Brad & Lara's in their house... Dying to hear what you thought....

The Block 2012 - More genius from our fave couple

I gasped when I heard what they had planned. Truly. Gasped.
I just adore this pair. (Noticed much?)
And at first when Ch9 started flashing up that preview of the judges scores, I felt uber confident that D&S had it in the bag.
Until I saw Dan and Dani's bathroom progress that is...
Those tiles look amazing. Though personally I would have used black or grey grout.
I soooooo hope they don't win. I suspect they wil. Dani was looking pretty smug on tonights ad.
Grrr.
We're almost at the end of the road friends!
What do you think of the grass on the ceiling?
What do you think of D&Ds bathroom?
Who do you think will take out the 10K off reserve?
How will we all cope next week with no Block?

Party food - New looks for old ideas...

The daily quest to come up with food that can entice as well as nourish hits new high's when the boy's birthdays roll around. Here are two original ideas that put a new slant on presentation and ingredients...

Peppa Pig is a favourite at our house.  And now that I have this idea up my sleeve, I'm ready for a "Peppa" themed Birthday party... Well, I have the snacks idea taken care of anyway....

Eat zucchini? My kids? Not likely!
But cover them in tomato, pepperoni and melted cheese and pass them off as pizzas!

Simpatico...

For the past few days I've had no voice... :(
Luckily, this image needs no words....

Tuesday Tour - Carolyn

Just adore this gorgeous home I saw on Design Sponge. It's in Toronto and belongs to Carolyn & Derek Gavin - let me tell you, these are peeps with no apparent fear of colour and it makes for a fantastic space...

First things first, here's the kids room....

And delicious grown up spaces....

Hop over here to D*S to check out the full tour and interview...

Kids space? Your space.

Whimsical. White. Wood.
3 of my favourite elements.
4 gorgeous rooms.
They're supposed to be for the little people.
But I'd be happy with any one of them for my own...

The Block update: Sophie & Dale's wallpapers

The season is drawing to a close friends! The past ten weeks have flown by so quickly! And I think it's been my favourite season so far. The perfect balance of lovely Blockheads, obnoxious Blockheads and the obligatory sibling Blockheads... Mixed with a dash of Dale & Sophies stunning style and it couldn't be anything but a winner... But my favourite thing about this season has been the sharing. I just love that the suppliers have been given a starring role! Nothing beats seeing something you love and being told where to get it! So, in the name of sharing, here's where to get my favourite element from house #1...

The Wallpapers....

How realistic was this wallpaper?! It looked so real! And it comes in other colours....
Oh be still my beating heart. The black is ah-mazing.

It's called Scrapwood by Piet Hein Eek, and you can get it from here for $330p/10m roll.

But this one is still the favourite - well, for me anyway. A friend of mine is obsessed with it. She'd used it in 3 houses well before anyone had ever heard of Sophie and Dale... But I had no idea it came in other colours....

Woods is a Cole & Son paper and is available from here
